This is newly available 2 bedroom, one bath house with study and enclosed sun porch. It is a charming 1928 Craftsmen Bungalow with nine foot ceilings and beautiful hardwood floors. The location is 305 South Forest in the Arbor District which is three blocks from the Southern Illinois University Carbondale main campus and three from Carbondale Memorial Hospital. It has all major appliances including: refrigerator, stove, dish washer, clothes washer, clothes dryer and central air. There is off street parking for several cars plus a large one car garage and a fenced back yard (no pets) and a large attic for storage.
 
The house is available for rent at $800 per month on a yearly  lease.

House for rent in Carbondale, Illinois, in the Arbor District

We are offering a charming Cape Cod with three bedrooms and 1 1⁄2 baths and an office and full bathroom with extensive storage in an adjacent "pool house". Both buildings overlook a refreshing “in ground” swimming pool on almost an acre of land in the center of Carbondale.

The living room, which has a fireplace, stretches the depth of the house. Step down into an expansive porch with another fireplace that contains a hot tub as well as a bathroom. The enclosed porch is the width of the house and directly overlooks the pool.

Knotty pine walls are used extensively throughout the house as well as the kitchen, which is being completely renovated. The kitchen has a glass door that opens onto the porch and allows a view of the pool.

The grounds, with mature trees and shrubs, are surrounded by fences. Nooks and corners abound on the grounds that are largely covered by bricks rescued from the renovation of Walnut Street. There is almost absolute privacy.

The location is one of the best in Carbondale, sure to save money on gasoline. The house is three blocks from Memorial Hospital and 5 blocks from SIUC. Within walking distance is Schnucks Grocery, banks, gas stations and other services.

The street where the house is located is considered one of the most desirable in Carbondale, with light one way traffic, and flowers on both sides of the street. It is a favorite of professors at SIUC and professionals.

Terms will be one year starting in mid July at $1200 a month. First and last month as well as a $1200 security deposit is required to sign a lease. The house is zoned R-1, which means no more than two unrelated adults may live there.
